Cabo San Lucas Day 6 (Tuesday February 25, 2014)

We were so sad to leave Cabo! We were excited to see the kids of course, but it was such a relaxing vacation that we didn't want to leave! We packed our things and then went for a nice walk along the beach collecting shells for the kids to see and just enjoying being together. I love, love, love walking along the beach with John! We boarded the bus to the airport and then flew home. Dax was in the car when our niece picked us up. He looked at us like we were from another planet. We got home in the evening and walked in the door, Easton looked up and said, "Mom, can I play your Ipad?" I guess he missed my Ipad more than me. Hailey and Coleton missed us at least. Hailey told us we were not leaving for more than 3 hours for a long time! Dax took about a day and a half and then he was back to giving me unsolicited kisses.

Cabo San Lucas Day 5 (Monday February 24, 2014)

I have always wanted to try paddle boarding and snorkeling so John was a good sport and we set up an excursion to do those plus kayaking and snuba. The day before, the boat broke down so we ended up having to change and just paddle board and snorkel with a different company. It was awesome though. We paddle boarded for 2 miles from Santa Monica Bay to Chileno Beach. It was so perfect! The water was beautiful and as we were paddling we saw a whale fairly close to us. (far enough away that it didn't freak me out, but close enough to see really well) I also saw a sting ray jump out of the water. We snorkeled at Chileno Bay and it was fun. It was a little weird to get use to but it was fun. I decided I need to snorkel somewhere where the water is 90 degrees and then I would love it. I am such a baby when it comes to water. After our excursion, we went back to the resort and John played water volleyball and water polo while I was lazy and read a book by the pool.

Cabo San Lucas Day 4 (Sunday February 23, 2014)

We ventured into Cabo for church Sunday morning with some of the people John works with. The ward we went to had a brand new building...that was the first Sunday they had ever met there. It was beautiful. I expected everyone to be dressed down a bit, but I was wrong. Almost all of the men, including the little boys were in white shirts and ties. I didn't understand a thing, but John did. It was such a fun experience for me to see that the church is pretty much the same everywhere. It felt so good, refreshing almost, to be in a church building. The feeling there was completely different than the feeling at our resort. This is a lovely picture!

After church, we headed into downtown Cabo. We asked some random guy on the street where a good place for Mexican Food was and he took us to this place. It was really, really good...and best of all, we didn't get sick.
After lunch, we explored Cabo a little bit more. John really thought this guy was a statue. It made me laugh!
That night for dinner we ate at the steakhouse in our resort and this awesome mariachi band played us some music. John is still bitter that they didn't play Enrique Iglesias.

Cabo Day 3 (February 22, 2014)

England planned this day for us and it was such a great day. They took us whale watching on a boat that was a lot like a glorified jet ski. It was a blast! The boat ride was super fun and the whales were amazing. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and fun. We started out from the marina in Cabo and headed out past all of the sea lions, (they made me laugh), past lovers beach, the arch, and the pacific window and headed out onto the Pacific Ocean.

When we arrived back at the hotel we had a while until the England banquet so we decided to take a city bus into town. I am so glad John speaks Spanish! The buses are like really old school buses. The speedometer on our bus did not work and the driver was on his cell phone a lot of the time. It was a bit unnerving but we had a fun time shopping and site seeing in town.
The banquet that night was really nice. England had the whole Sante Fe restaurant at our hotel reserved and it was fun to celebrate all of Johns hard work last year!

Cabo San Lucas Day 2 (Fri, Feb 21, 2014)

This was one of my favorite days in Cabo. I woke up early thinking I would get to the gym and get a run in before it was packed. I don't like running on treadmills much, but I figured I would manage since they overlooked the ocean. The gym only had 3 treadmills so I was out of luck for a very long run. I only ran 4 miles and felt guilty because there were people waiting to run. I decided running wasn't worth it on this trip so I didn't even bother the rest of the trip. John and I walked up the beach from our resort toward the marina and took a water taxi to Lovers Beach. I had never really been to a beach besides California so I loved just walking along the beach! The boat ride took us out past El Arco, the Pacific Window (where you can see the Pacific Ocean from the Sea of Cortez side), and a colony of Sea Lions.

Lover's Beach is on the Sea of Cortez side and Divorce Beach is on the Pacific Ocean side of the Peninsula. Lover's Beach is super calm and Divorce Beach had huge waves! We explored Lovers Beach a little bit and headed over to Divorce Beach to see what that was all about.
This sign is not lying! The waves were huge!!! I totally got why the whole Lovers/Divorce thing. We spent the morning exploring the caves along the peninsula. We walked along the the Lover's Side up to Pelican Beach and spent awhile swimming there. I am a baby and the water was not a hot tub so I spent time on the beach and John swam out further than I did. John wanted to swim out to Pelican Rock and jump off it but I was lame. I wanted to take him back out there later in the trip and jump but we ended up not having time. :( It was so nice to relax and spend time together though!
We took a water taxi back across the Sea of Cortez and walked along the beach back to our hotel. We were both exhausted! It was quite a little journey so we ate a late lunch and then lounged by the pool. John took a nice little nap and I read for awhile. I never read and it's because I always have so many other things I need to do. It was nice to have nothing that needed to be done.
We ate at a Japanese restaurant that night with some friends and had a fun time laughing. I didn't love the food so I went to the buffet after and ate some more dessert and I was good. We spent that evening watching one of the shows that the resort put on with some friends. It was a fun day!

Cabo San Lucas Day 1 (Thurs, Feb 20, 2014)

In February John and I went to Cabo. John earned this trip for making Presidents Club at his work. It was so fun to get away and spend time together. The first day we arrived and got checked into our resort. We stayed at the Riu Palace. It was a beautiful resort right on the beach with amazing views!

After getting some food (and drinks with no alcohol...everyone there could not believe we didn't drink:), we headed out to the pools and beach. The pools were awesome looking! I actually never put more than my legs into the pools. Unless the water is at least 88 degrees, it is not worth getting in! John and some of his friends from work swam and we spent the time relaxing and enjoying the views. We had read some reviews that the beach right out from our hotel was very dangerous. Of course John had to push the limits and test it out.
The edge of the pool looks like it flows right into the ocean. It was super cool! The rocks right out from the pool are Lands End. That is the end of the Baja Peninsula. Our room actually overlooked this pool and had a great view of Lands End as well.
