4th of July

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. I love the hot weather, red, white and blue clothes, parades, fireworks, BBQ's and spending time with family. Our holiday this year was not our stereotypical one, but we had fun. John's mom gave us a little scare on Friday so we spent some time throughout the weekend at the hospital with her. No worries, she is doing better now.
On Friday night we kicked off the weekend with a BBQ at our neighbors. After a wild and crazy fireworks display...thankfully we all survived...our little family slept in a tent in our backyard.
The kids getting ready for the fireworks...You cannot see Easton..he is hiding!

Oh the excitement of playing with fire!

On Saturday we soaked up the sun at my parents, and then went to a movie of all things..weird I know!

On Saturday night, we parked our car on a hill along Baccus Highway and watched the fireworks all over the valley. It was cool to see all the fireworks, but I decided I like to be closer to the action.

All of the kids fell asleep watching the fireworks

On Monday, we went up Little Cottonwood in hopes of hiking to Cecret Lake, but the road is still closed from winter, so we hiked around on a different trail.

Some people are great at trying new things, not me! I am already looking forward to next year when we can return to a normal 4th!
