First Grade!

Today was Haileys first day of school. She was so excited. At 5:30 this morning, she crawled into bed with John and I. She just stayed there for a second, and then she tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Mom, do you remember that I am starting first grade today?" As we were getting her ready, I asked her if she had said her prayers yet, she hadn't. She told me she would be awhile and went into her room and shut the door. I think she was nervous, but she would never admit it. I was happy to see that she knew she could pray to Heavenly Father for help and peace. She had a great day and loved having three recesses, and eating lunch at school.

I loved this picture. Hailey and her little girl friends were so excited to see eachother and see their new backpacks and clothes.

Family Reunion

We had a fun family reunion this weekend. On Thursday we swam at my moms and had a BBQ. We did fireworks...thanks to Marquel. Then, the Jensen cousins had a sleepover. The plan was to sleep outside on the pool cover....SURPRISE my kids lasted all of five seconds. As soon as there was alien talk, they were both inside and slept on the couch.
On Friday, we went up the canyon and had a very relaxing day. Grandma hooked the kids up with a bowl and Grandpa had a rope, so the kids caught Pot Guts...at least 5, then I lost track. (No worries, it was catch and release.) Coleton sat still for so long watching for the critters to come. I am going to tell him to watch for Pot Guts tomorrow at church and see if he will hold still. Wish me Luck!

St. George

Last week we went to St. George with our cute neighbors. We had a fun time swimming and just hanging around. We took the kids bowling. It was Coleton's first time. He would throw the ball down the lane and then sit down and wait until the ball finally made it to the pins. It was so cute. (I was horrible at taking pictures..I apologize!) The guys went golfing a few times, and the gals went shopping...I must say shopping was a nice getaway! We saw the movie Wallie. It was cute, but Hailey said it was a little boring, and Coleton & Easton fell asleep...at least they got a nap.
On the way home, we took a drive up Kolob canyon. It was fun, and the kids had a great time.

Hailey took this picture, so we had to add it for her.

I tried to get the kids to flex their muscles as it is one of Coletons favorite things to do. Hailey would have nothing to do with flexing, so she just did a ballet pose instead.
I am so glad we have such fun neighbors!!

4th of July

We had such a fun and busy day on the 4th. We started at the West Jordan parade because Hailey was in it. She thought it was great..she has always wanted to be in a parade. The first thing she told everyone all day was that she got to ride on a float.

(Yes, she is the one with her legs spread apart..nice.. so lady like.)

After the parade, we went to my parents for a BBQ & to swim. The pictures say it all...it was a blast.

Easton with Grandpa.

Chicken fights...need I say more?

After swimming, we went to John's brothers house for another BBQ and fun.

They played kick ball with water as the bases, and the slip and side as the home plate. It was good times for all.

We ended with fireworks...(all Utah legal Richie?????)
Hailey with a sparkler in one hand and an ice cream cone in the other.

Coleton giving John five. Coleton is and always has been petrified of fireworks. Tonight he actually did a sparkler and he was so proud of himself!

Easton didn't quite make it until the fireworks. Isn't he sweet!
