Back to School

The 3 oldest kids are back to school and little Dax FINALLY gets to have a nap schedule! Hailey is in 6th grade, Coleton in 3rd and Easton started kindergarten. They are all loving their teachers and loving school.

I miss them but I am not going to lie, it has been nice to start getting caught up on my to do list...and HALLELUJAH I can now mark "update blog" off of my list!

Fathers and Sons

John braved Fathers and Sons with Easton and Coleton. They had fun. The boys love this kind of stuff. Hailey had a swim team party so we didn't get to have any girl fun until after the boys got home on Saturday. We left the baby with the boys and saw Sea of Monsters. Hailey loves the Percy Jackson books so she was excited to see the movie.

Snowbird

We spent a few nights in August at Snowbird with John's family. It was so nice to get away for a few days. We spent one day doing all the activities they have up there during the summer. We all loved it. Easton was hilarious. While I was waiting in line with the two oldest kids, John had Easton and the baby. Easton was getting bored so John told him to go play in the snow cone shack that wasn't being used. Easton started to pretend that he was selling snow cones. It was so funny because random people would stop and pretend to buy snow cones from him. One person pretended to hand Easton $1.00 and Easton got all serious. He said, "Look at the sign, these are $2.00." Another person would order a flavor and Easton kept telling the guy, "sorry, we are all out of that flavor." Finally, the guy chose a flavor that Easton had. Funny kid! The second day we were there we hiked to Cecret Lake. This is one of John's favorite places to hike and an easy hike for the kids.

Easton is 6

Easton celebrated his 6th birthday in August! I cannot believe he is that old. He chose to have his friends party at a local jump place. Easton loves pokemon and chose a pokeball cake this year.

Daxton

I feel a little bit bad because Dax hasn't has his share of pictures/milestones recorded. Here is my sad attempt. This summer (about 7 months) Dax started crawling. He surprised us that it took so long to crawl because he would roll and get whatever he wanted so early. Within a few days (literally) of crawling he started pulling himself up and walking along everything. Dax loves to be wherever the other boys are and gets in on the wrestling. (I am already scared that the child is going to wrestle every other little boy he sees!) He is a busy little guy and such a happy baby. He just kind of goes with the flow. He has brought so many smiles to our family and we cannot imagine life without him!

Summer 2013

I cannot believe that summer is over! It went by way too fast. I made a schedule at the first of the summer of what we would do each day. Because I like things to run smoothly this worked very well for us. It kept us busy and allowed the kids the perfect amount of free time so they didn't get bored. Every morning the kidos had their regular chores but we added one big extra chore every day and something fun. This way I didn't lose my mind and the kids didn't think they were getting robbed of all the "fun stuff!" Mondays we scrubbed the house and planned the rest of the week. Tuesdays we cleaned the car and went somewhere fun that the kids chose. We did Seven Peaks several times, the zoo a few times, movies, bowling, the float preview party, Tracey Aviary, etc. On Wednesdays we did the yard work and enjoyed cousin day at my moms house. This was a favorite day of the week! I cannot believe I didn't take a picture of this all summer long! Thursdays we touched up the house (i.e vacuumed, dusted, wiped down bathrooms, etc) and then did a science project or a craft. Some of our favorites were tie dying shirts, painting picture frames, making a volcano and letting it erupt, coke/mentos explosions, and baking soda ball explosions. Fridays we did the shopping and had friend day. Add to that swim team, swim lessons, basketball camp, and piano lessons, we kept very busy. On Saturdays we also spent a lot of time hiking. The kids are so happy to be outside and I am happy for the exercise! Some other things we did as a family this summer were going to a Bees game and an outdoor play. I did an awful job remembering to take pictures, but here is what I have.
