We cannot get enough of this little guy! The lucky kid always has somebody that wants to hold him or play with him! He has such a sweet little personality and loves all of the attention.
His lips just make me want to kiss him!!

John was able to bless Dax. He gave him a beautiful blessing! We are so lucky to have so much family come and support us. Like always, I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures, but at least John had it pulled together and got some video of our family.
My Mom, Dad and Dax
My Grandma and Dax. Sadly John's mom had left by the time I got the camera out.

Daxtons Blessing

It's Great to be 8!
Coleton turned 8 in January! I cannot believe he is already 8. Coleton is such a good kid and so fun to have around. There is no doubt that Heavenly Father sent him as the oldest boy in our family for a reason! He is such a good example for the other boys to follow!
Coleton loves all sports so he chose a jersey cake for his birthday.
He loves to ice skate so he chose to have his friends party at the Olympic Oval. Most of the kids had never ice skated before but it only took them a few minutes to get the hang of it. They all had so much fun. Sadly, I only took a few pictures, the rest of the time I was holding up kids:)
Turning 8 is exciting for so many reasons, but scouting is one of those reasons! Coleton is so excited to be a cub scout! He has already earned his Bobcat!
Another one of the exciting reasons is that you get to be baptized! Coleton doesn't show a whole lot of excitement about things, but he did show his excitement about being baptized!
See what I mean about what a good brother he is! He loves Daxton and Dax loves him!
Coleton is going to be an amazing missionary one day!!
Coleton loves breakfast foods! In fact Saturday is his favorite day because it is the only morning John is home to cook him cheesy eggs! For his brunch he chose to serve breakfast. It made me laugh that he knew exactly what he wanted! Breakfast casserole, muffins, fruit, juice and of course...DONUTS! (He is the only person I know that really believes you need dessert after breakfast!)

Christmas 2012
We had a fun Christmas! It was a little bit different having a new baby around. John and I are too old for the lack of sleep thing. I think between all the Christmas Eve fun and Dax we got maybe 3 hours of sleep that night. We did create some more funny Christmas Eve memories though so that is fun!!
One of our favorite traditions is making a gingerbread house. It is so funny because every year John groans about it but every year he ends up taking it over and barely letting the kids help. It makes me laugh.
Here are the kids in their Christmas clothes minus Coleton's tie. I haven't mastered the whole tie thing yet (with 3 boys I should learn) and John is always at the church so most Sundays Coleton gets his tie done right before Sacrament meeting in the foyer. This Sunday was no exception.
Here are the kids on Christmas Eve. I just love how exciting Christmas Eve is. Just thinking about it makes me smile!
Our Christmas morning mess. I can handle the mess on Christmas but it makes John crazy!! (That is another one of my favorite things about Christmas. It is so funny to watch him try so hard not to be bugged, then go get a garbage bag and start sorting things into piles!)

He is Here!
Sweet baby Daxton has arrived! He weighs 7lbs 4oz and is 19 inches long. Dax is such a cuddly, happy baby and we cannot get enough of him!

Flag Football
Coleton played Flag Football this fall. I really was not excited for him to play but he wanted to so bad. For some reason the whole football thing stresses me out. Maybe because he is so little and maybe because I know what the time commitment can be, but for some reason I just don't want to do the whole football thing. Anyway, this was actually fun. Coleton of course loved it and he was really good especially at pulling flags. He played with a bunch of his friends from school and that made it fun as well!

Halloween Festivities
We had a fun Halloween this year with all of our traditional festivities. Carving pumpkins, pumpkin stew, homemade root beer, trick or treating with our good friends, pajamas at grandmas along with trading candy with the cousins. This year the cousins made their pj shirts over fall break. It was fun to see how different they all turned out. I loved Easton's. He insisted his said "I am very hungry." Random...yes but oh so smart. He thought he could wear it trick or treating so people would give him more candy. Man he keeps me on my toes!

Family Time
Over the last little while we have been able to sneak away from everyday "real" life and enjoy each other a bit. One Saturday afternoon, we decided we needed to get away so we drove up to Brighton and walked around a little lake. (I totally forgot what it is called, but it was a neat little place.) I love to just hang back and watch the kids explore and enjoy the small, simple things in life. It makes me feel happy:) It seems like all 3 of these kids are overflowing with personality and I love to just watch it come bubbling out of them when we are together as a family. We have Hailey who is so sure of herself and I am convinced she knows just about everything about every animal on the planet. We would read the little signs around the lake that would tell about different animals and then she would go into more detail, and more detail, and more detail. We have little Coleton who just goes with the flow but interjects his hilarious little comments all the time. The positive way he views everything is amazing to me. Someday I am going to be like that! Then there is Easton who could only slow down to look around if he was in the lead. He needs to be in charge of the situation at all times. He talks to everyone. The whole way around the lake he would stop to talk to whomever we passed, and every time he started the conversation with..."guess what?.....
We also went to the corn maze one evening. I laughed the whole time. Easton again...in the lead. Coleton just doing whatever he felt like at the second, and Hailey trying to analyze every turn and then making a decision that she was totally sure of! I just hung back, held John's hand and loved every second of it.Posted by hollyw at 2:06 PM 1 comments
